Code Of Conduct

The Code of Conduct applies to each student while they are on the School premises or when they are away from the School representing it or attending any School function.Students are expected to recognize the need to behave in a way such that it compliments the School, wherever they are. Disciplinary action would be implemented by the School management in case of any mis-conduct by the students.

General Rules

  • The basic rule is that no-one must disrupt the school life.
  • The Navyandhara students are required to set a high standard of behavior both inside and outside the school premises
  • Students will not use foul or offensive language.
  • No student will deface or damage the school property. Any damage to the school property should be reported immediately to the Principal or the School Coordinator.
  • No student has the right at any time to behave in a manner that will disrupt the learning activity of other students, or will cause another learner physical or emotional harm.
  • Students are expected to have respect for their peers and be sensitive to differences among themselves due to physical, cultural and economic considerations
  • Bullying, aggression or violence in any form is gross misconduct for which the school will take strict disciplinary action, if required.
  • Misbehavior towards girl students, use of threat or violence against members of the staff or fellow students will be considered as a very serious misconduct.
  • Students are expected to abide by the School rules with regard to appearance and behavior when representing the School both during School hours and after School hours, at School and away from School. Students should not say or do anything that will discredit themselves or the School.
  • Students will not litter in (or outside) the school premises.
  • Students will not miss classes while in school and will not leave the school campus during school hours without prior permission of the Principal.
  • Students are expected to be environment friendly.
  • Students who violate the school rules will not be permitted to represent the school in any inter- school sports or other activities irrespective of individual interests or talent.
  • Jewellery and fancy watches are not permitted. The school will not be held responsible if a watch is misplaced or lost.
  • Teachers shall be greeted appropriately with “Good Morning Ma’am/ Sir or Good afternoon Ma’am/Sir and Thank You Ma’am/Sir when the teacher leaves the classroom.
  • Silence to be maintained in the class room during the teaching hours.
  • All the students shall wear their identity cards, well displayed. Denial of wearing the card invites disciplinary action.
  • All the students are expected to attend all school functions in school uniform unless otherwise advised.

Punctuality

  • Students are expected to have strict adherence to school timings.
  • School timings to be observed are 8.30am – 5.00pm.
  • Students will not be permitted to enter the school after commencement of school time.
  • Students must report to class on time after break or activity periods.

Leave of Absence

  • Students must have a minimum attendance of 75% during the academic year in order to take the school examinations.
  • In case of missing school, a leave application must be presented to the school duly signed by the parents/ guardian.
  • In case of absenteeism due to illness, students must present a medical certificate to the school.
  • Long leave may only be taken with the prior permission of the Principal.
  • No Student is permitted to leave school during school hours without a valid permission slip from the Class Teacher / Principal/School Coordinator.

Grooming

  • Hair should be neat at all times.No form of hair styling, colour or hair spiking is allowed.
  • No earrings, jewellery, accessories, coloured contact lenses or visible tattoos are allowed.
  • No additions or alterations to the uniform that are not in accordance with the regulations will be allowed.
  • Students should be in the proper uniform as prescribed. Proper length of skirts and shorts must be adhered to. Black shoes must be as defined in the uniform.
  • For Boys: The hair regulations are as follows:
  •                    1.Hair length :Can’t touch eyebrows (If pulled down)

                       2.Can’t touch ears (over ears) or go over the collar

  • May not be longer than 5cm (if pushed up).
  • Sideburns may not extend further than mid-ear.
  • Girls with long hair should have it tied. Only blue or black hairclips must be worn.
  • All students should have clipped nails. Girls are not permitted to wear nail paint.
  • Students are not permitted to wear expensive or flashy jewellery, watches and other accessories.

Mobile and Digital Technology

  •  Students are not permitted to carry mobile phones on the school premises.
  • Students will not indulge in inappropriate use of the school computers or networks.
  • Students are not permitted to bring valuable electronic devices (i-pods, cameras, tablets etc.) without the prior permission of the Principal.
  • Strict action will be taken if it comes to the notice of the school authorities that any student is involved in possession and circulation of inappropriate digital content on mobile devices.

Transport

  •  Strict discipline must be maintained in the school bus. Misbehavior on the bus can lead to withdrawal of bus facilities.
  • Students must remain seated in the bus till the arrival of their stop.
  • Changes in bus routes or problems relating to bus services should be informed to the school office.
  • Students should not change the boarding or dropping off stop without prior information being given to the school office.
  • School will not be responsible for any independent transport arrangements used by students. The safety and verification of such vehicles and drivers is the responsibility of the parents/ guardians of the child.

Code of Conduct on the Sports field

  •  Sports are to be played with the correct spirit of sportsmanship.
  • Aggression, fighting on the field and using abusive language will invite strict disciplinary action from the authorities.
